The healthcare facility of Aiken County residents has moved to Greenville Street Friday. They have no other option as organization now has the name of Community Medical Clinic of Aiken County. They clinic was established in 1998 and is designed for the provision of free medical care to the residents if Aiken County between the age of 19 and 64. However patients are uninsured and must have income below the poverty line.

According to the studies made by the clinic, this includes 14,000 residents of the County. The Clinic is assuring in providing healthcare facilities and nourishment to the low income residents who are struggling for their livings.

 
 

The South Suburban College Nursing program is hosting an Open House in nursing Lab on Monday on 24 Nov. The timings will be 10 am -2 pm. The room is 4228 and that will be on main campus. It also offers an Associate Degree in nursing (ADN) program that also prepares nursing graduates which qualifies the graduate students for RN programs.

The practical nursing program nourishes students with basic knowledge of nursing theory. After joining this course, students can easily assist RN and LPN and can also join health care society. They will come to know about basic skills of nurses like caring, empathy, sympathy etc. If they will be unsuccessful individual is eligible to take the State of Illinois Nursing Assistant Competency Examination which certifies them to work as nursing assistants.

 
 

Prime Minister Gordon Brown paid tribute to the NHS and the nursing profession. He believes that nursing has made a difference in the world. He also shared his experience which forced him to believe that the NHS was a worthy institute. He said that when he was young he got injured and was admitted in the hospital

The Prime Minister presented the Chief Nursing Office’s Award at the Annual Nursing Times Award. The first National summit on the crisis caused by Canada’s nursing shortage begins today. Around 200 educators, researchers and government representatives have gathered in Gatineau. Report says that every year the country is running short of 2,500 nurses. It has been predicted that by 2011 there will be shortage of 78,000 registered nurses.

To overcome this problem Saskatchewan is bringing nurses from Philippines and Quebec imports them from France. Some jurisdictions have offered new graduates a six month term in which they are not expected to take the whole work load. There will be around two days of discussion and some profitable conclusion will be drawn out.

 
 

Indian Nursing Council (INC) has provided better medical services in rural areas. They will soon introduce independent nurse practitioner programs in Maharashtra along with other states. Under this program trained nurses will handle normal deliveries and primary health care centers in the absence of doctors.

The INC will provide the State Nursing Council a course module so that they can start training nurses. For this the Government of India has sanctioned nurses to start practicing. The program will be inaugurated by the former president of India APJ Abdul Kalam in the city. The practice has already started in states like Gujarat, West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

 
 

The shortage of nurses in Michigan has become critical. Michigan House Health Policy Committee reported that Michigan’s demand for registered nurses will exceed gradually by 2010. There will be shortage of 18,000 nurses by 2015. Most of the universities and schools of nursing are expanding their programs to provide some need to ease the situation.

Eastern Michigan University’s School of Nursing is expanding its degree programs. The EMU president, Susan Martin, believes that with the help of the provost and faculty they will be able to increase their pre licensure placements from 80 to 112, in 2009. There’s even more encouragement that is required in Michigan to promote nursing. The Nursing education will improve the quality of healthcare in Michigan.

 
 

The latest additions in the National Institute of Nursing Research are the Dean of the Indiana University School of Nursing, Marion E. Broome, RN, PhD, FAAN, and the Director of the Navy's Human Research Protection Program, Capt. Maggie L. Richard, RN, MSN. She is PhD also. The institute is helping in research to develop clinical practice as well as in preventing disease and disability. They will also take measures in managing and eliminating illness, assisting individuals and families.

The institute is planning to solve ethical issues and that’s why the management is trying to include experienced and renowned staff. Broome and Richard are perfect in their skills. They will solve the purpose of the institute of reaching towards their goals. 

 
 

It is declared in the press conference that University of Hart Ford is raising its funds more than $175 million in its fund raising campaign. Dr Arthur Horwich of Yale University has received Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize of 2008 which was given by Columbia University. He has been awarded for his outstanding contribution in biology and biochemistry.

Students from University of Connecticut are studying in Cape Town, South Africa and working in labor and delivery wards. These fourteen nurses are doing courses in local history, culture and lesson in the Xhosa language. A science teacher at Silas Deane Middle School in Wethersfield named Diana Beardsley has been selected to take part as a fellow in the New Science Teacher Academy. This program is for improving the nursing teachings around the nation.
