Ohio Department of Aging has started a survey in Dayton area nursing area. The results will be shown on itcohi.com.The survey followed a new nursing home rating system which was released last week. It was finished among the five states in the nation. It was finished in the five star rating which was started by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. During Christmas a special care home in Campbelton is planning to open and could be started in next autumn. On Dec 15, special counting meeting was held where the third and final reading of a by law amendment which was held that and made the way for the project estimated to be about $1 million. The centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have released one to five star rating for about 16,000 nursing homes across the country. Mostly hospitals got average or above average three or four stars. Verrazano Nursing Home and Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Center have received the best rating at five stars among all the centers. They are rated on three facilities like Health inspections, staffing levels and quality measures like the percentages of patients on bed. Magnet Status Can Easily Motivate Nurses 12/21/2008
When hospital came to know about the nursing program, they have awarded the most prestigious designation of Magnet status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The initiative was taken by the Polk County who has achieved Magnet status and granted only 5 percent to the nation’s hospitals. We have been working for days and nights to find out the reason for the shortage of nurses. Most of them informed that they were willing to go for nursing but due to the expenses drawn they were not able to do so. A report on nursing shortage shows high accommodation costs is one of the reasons for it. More than 35 percent of nurses leave their territory every year to join nursing. This is the period of crisis in the economics which is affecting every section of society whether it’s nursing or others. As this is Christmas holiday season, the employees of Liberty Saving Bank have taken various initiatives to help them in progress. From the past years Liberty bank employees who include their family members have adopted the residents of Wilmington Nursing and Rehab Centre. Mayanja Memorial Medical training institute in Mbarara will start training medical students in nursing. A team from the Ministry of Education Nursing council decided to grant the institute permission to start with few students for better services. However the ministry has not allowed the institute to produce their own curriculum. An emergency room doctor reported that he has seen patients of Grant Park Care Center nursing home dying due to negligence. Most of the patients come in with acute kidney problems, severe pneumonia and malnutrition. Most of the patients are malnourished and neglected in the nursing home. |
