It is declared in the press conference that University of Hart Ford is raising its funds more than $175 million in its fund raising campaign. Dr Arthur Horwich of Yale University has received Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize of 2008 which was given by Columbia University. He has been awarded for his outstanding contribution in biology and biochemistry.

Students from University of Connecticut are studying in Cape Town, South Africa and working in labor and delivery wards. These fourteen nurses are doing courses in local history, culture and lesson in the Xhosa language. A science teacher at Silas Deane Middle School in Wethersfield named Diana Beardsley has been selected to take part as a fellow in the New Science Teacher Academy. This program is for improving the nursing teachings around the nation.
