We have been working for days and nights to find out the reason for the shortage of nurses. Most of them informed that they were willing to go for nursing but due to the expenses drawn they were not able to do so. A report on nursing shortage shows high accommodation costs is one of the reasons for it. More than 35 percent of nurses leave their territory every year to join nursing. However they are not able to continue with the expenses thus leave in the middle of their course.

The Northern Territory Opposition says appropriate accommodation should be provided to all nurses and doctors who want to work in their territory. They believe that to overcome the shortage of nurses and doctors in places like Darwin they need to provide appropriate accommodation which is affordable.
