An emergency room doctor reported that he has seen patients of Grant Park Care Center nursing home dying due to negligence. Most of the patients come in with acute kidney problems, severe pneumonia and malnutrition. Most of the patients are malnourished and neglected in the nursing home.

As a result inspection was done and a report was taken from the D.C. Department of Health that was done in February and May 2008. It stated that the nurse failed to notify physician of resident dehydration and of anemia. They also complained about the unattended patients with wound and dehydration. The D.C Department of Health agrees that the city’s health department needs to become more aggressive.
