Mayanja Memorial Medical training institute in Mbarara will start training medical students in nursing. A team from the Ministry of Education Nursing council decided to grant the institute permission to start with few students for better services. However the ministry has not allowed the institute to produce their own curriculum.

It has been asked to the director of the institute, Dr. Benon Mugerwa to follow the national curriculum of education and fulfill all the ministry’s requirements. He has been strictly informed by the ministry to not commercialize the institute for their selfish interest. They are planning to get resident tutors for better services to the learners.
