Health Minister Edwina Hart says more community nurses and midwives will be trained in an attempt to reduce the shortage of nurses. Latest figures state that over 100 vacant nursing posts in Wales and hospitals rely on nurse agencies. More healthcare courses will be introduced in Wales in the next academic year.

More training for nurses will bring practice in this field. These extra training places will ensure that we continue to have the appropriate levels of staff to meet health care needs of the future. Tina Donnelly, director of Royal College of Nursing Wales has decided to increase in training places for nurses.
